The Liberty Financial group is a well-established and highly regarded financial services group. Based in Melbourne, with offices in Sydney and Auckland, the group employs over 200 staff and is backed by global banks such as Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Macquarie Bank and National Australia Bank.

Liberty introduced specialty lending to Australia in 1997, recognising that a large number of people were being serviced poorly or were not being serviced by traditional lenders. Following its success in Australia, Liberty launched its New Zealand operations in 2001 with an office in Auckland and a nationwide network of Business Development Managers.

Liberty was the first company to offer specialty lending to the New Zealand market and has advanced more than $800 million in home loans to become one of the leading finance companies in New Zealand.

Liberty Financial Limited was initially established in 1994. In 2002 it commenced lending to businesses across a diverse range of industry sectors, in both urban and rural locations, enabling those businesses to purchase capital assets such as plant, machinery, equipment, commercial vehicles or land and buildings.
